World Premiere. At night the brain continues working but with the censor control switched off, allowing the subconscious to run free. Six dancers were invited to participate and were asked to share their own dreams and to generate a visual interpretation. Also features new dancer Martyn Garside, formerly of the San Francisco Ballet, and the return of five ZDT dancers including Katja Bjorner, formerly with the Royal Swedish Ballet and the ballet student featured in the documentary film "The Dancer".

Discussion: Inside the Dancer's Life: Black Swan & Beyond
A discussion focusing on the demanding life of a professional ballet dancer - from years of intense training, to surviving injuries, and the pressure and competition necessary to succeed. Participants include Diablo Ballet dancers Erika Johnson and Derek Sakakura, moderator Lauren Jonas, Diablo Ballet’s Artistic Director, and Toba Singer, local dance critic and author of First Position: A Century of Ballet Artists. Drawing to win two tickets to Diablo Ballet's 18th Season premiere on November 18-19 at the Lesher Center.

Reflections honors the efforts of Lenora Lee’s Chinese grandfather to achieve dignity and self-realization within an unjust context. Pretonically Oriented v.3, the audience experiences is performance in dialogue with itself.

Dance Mission Down and Dirty Series
Jetta Martin and Michael Velez
Includes many local bay area dancers and the choreographers Velez and Martin. Their work speaks to issues in the African American community, the Queer community, modern dance, and neo-classical style. Also includes an installation by local visual artists as well as material from several spoken word artists, and audience interaction.

Push Film Release and Mini-Performance. Local choreographer/dancer Raissa Simpson whose credits include projects for Lucas Films and recording artist Tori Quinn, reveals unseen footage from her critically-acclaimed Push Dance Company. In addition to a film release filled with pulsating movement, Push will also showcase their latest work, a men's trio, entitled "Configurations" set to debut at Central Market Arts Festival in Mint Plaza on September 24th.
