Dancers Schedule

The 2008 Repertory Season will close with a final performance on Tuesday, May 6 at 8:00pm. Beginning on May 7 the dancers will be on hiatus for eight weeks, returning to the studios on Wednesday, July 2.

2008 Performance Project

Each year the SF Ballet Center for Dance Education (CDE) provides a free interactive movement program to over 3,500 students in 34 San Francisco Unified School District elementary schools through its Dance in Schools and Communities (DISC) program. On Saturday, May 17, CDE will celebrate the conclusion of this year’s residencies with its annual Performance Project, presented as a part of the 2008 Young at Art Festival. Performances will take place at the outdoor café stage of the de Young Museum beginning at 12:00pm. The presentation will include dance performances by students from three SFUSD elementary schools: Redding Elementary, Buena Vista Alternative, and New Traditions Alternative.

Community Circle Dance Camp

The SF Ballet CDE will host the fourth annual Community Circle Dance Camp June 23 to 27 at Tenderloin Community School. The week-long program, for inner-city youth ages seven to 14 years old, will include classes in hip-hop, world dance, choreography, drumming, circus arts, and visual art. The week culminates with a special demonstration for family and friends, showcasing the new skills gained through the camp experience. Approximately 75 participants attend the camp annually and scholarship assistance is available.
