Dance Audition

Rehearse and perform faculty choreography in a fully produced, formal concert, in the beautiful and spacious Fine Arts Theater at the College of Marin's Kentfield campus. Performance dates: Fridays and Saturday, April 2 & 3 and 9 & 10 at 8 p.m. Rehearsals are to be arranged. AUDITION REQUIRED: Fri. Feb 5 @ 6 p.m. and Sat. Feb 6 @ 12 noon (attend only one of these audition dates) for dancers at intermediate level, and above, in modern, ballet, jazz, musical theater and hip hop. Auditions will be held at the Swinerton Office Building on the College of Marin Kentfield campus.


Casting Notice, Tiger Lily in Peter Pan

New stage production of Peter Pan performed in a state-of-the-art 1350 seat theater pavilion on the Embarcadero. First Rehearsal: March 29, 2010, First Preview: April 27, 2010. Opening: May 9, 2010. Performs: 8 shows/week, Mondays off. Closing: October 24, 2010. Salary: minimum $700/week.

Audition for a locally-based non-union dancer for the role of Tiger Lily: female, 20s. Fearless, a fighter. An outstanding, technically excellent professional dancer with a strong grounding in classical technique required. Tiger Lily is superhumanly attuned to the rhythms and sounds of jungle life. Native American Indian or as ethnically close as possible is preferred but we are looking for the most outstanding dancer. Tiger Lily does a two minute solo dance on a bare stage and is required to dazzle the audience with her technical prowess and show-stopping performance. Parcour, free running skills and acrobatics very desirable. Only serious dancers to apply please.

AUDITIONS: All auditions will be held in San Francisco, specific location TBA. Candidates auditioning for Tiger Lily should plan to stay for the entire call, if necessary, and should prepare a short (1 min.) solo that showcases their technical and performance skills; the audition (and performance creation) will also involve some improvisation. Please wear clothes that will help us see your body; Tiger Lily dances in bare feet, but you may audition in ballet shoes or socks, if you'd prefer. Initial auditions: Feb. 22nd, 10-5 Callbacks: Feb. 24th

Female Dancer Audition

FEBRUARY 20th 2-5PM. Flyaway is seeking a female dancer for the 2010 season and beyond. We are looking for a dancer with professional performance experience, trained in release, contact improv, modern and aerial techniques (bring a harness if you have one). We are seeking someone with strong compositional skills who is interested in site specific work, and work derived from political intentions. Please arrive ready to dance. Requirements for Audition

1. Bring headshot, Resume and Dance Photo, if available.
2. All dancers should bring caractère shoes.
3. Women must wear light or skin color tights and bring pointe shoes.
4. Men must wear light color tights and bring ballet shoes.
5. If you did not pay your $20 audition registration fee in advance, you will be required to do so at the time of the audition. Please have cash or check made payable to Ballet San Jose ready on your audition day.


If you are unable to attend any of the open auditions, you may send a video highlighting your work. Your video must meet these requirements:

1. It should include close-ups.
2. It is preferred that you wear a leotard and light colored tights.
3. Submission must be VHS or DVD. Electronic submissions (youtube, myspace, etc) will NOT be accepted.
4. DVD submissions must be in DVD-R format.
5. Include your Resume, Headshot and Dance Photo with your submission.
6. Include a cover letter stating whether this submission is:

  • Your submission to request an invitation to a Company Class audition*
  • Early submission of materials because you will attend an open audition

ODC SCHOOL AUDITION SERIES, PUSH DANCE COMPANY

The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $12 drop in fee.
Please come early to fill out information forms and bring your resume, if you have one.

Push Dance Company ("Push"), 5th Anniversary ODC Commons June 18-19 and Joyce SoHo tour to New York July 24-25, will be holding open auditions for
both its home season and touring:

• Restaging/tour of programming (mixed rep)
• New work involving chamber hip-hop opera (making and touring)

Push is looking for both female and male experienced modern dancers who possess strong creativity, sense of fun, reliability, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
